Name: Samantha "Sam" Winchester
PB: Sophia Bush

Age: 25

Appearance

Sam is tall for a girl, and awkward in a gangly kind of way that makes her look much skinnier than she actually is. She has a relatively curvy figure, but she downplays this with loose fitted t shirts and shirts that aren't cut to her figure. She's often found in casual attire, wearing jeans and a plaid shirt more often than anything else, and it's rare she's seen without her hair scraped up into a loose ponytail at the back of her head.

She doesn't have many bad habits, save for the old reliable of biting at her thumb nail when she's nervous, worried or scared. She's been trying to stop ever since she was a kid, but nothing seemed to work, and by now she's given up trying. She also grinds her teeth when bored and frustrated, though she hasn't had any permanent damage or issues from this (yet)

History HERE (As far as the beginning of the Season 4 section)

Powers/Talents

For a full list go here. Not all of these will be applicable due to canon point.
Note: The longer she is cut off from demon blood, the weaker these powers will become, and vice versa if she consumes any they will strengthen. Eventually she will not be able to use them if cut off completely.

Telekinesis Due to consumption of demon blood, Sam has recently been able to use this power again, which was previously limited to moments of extreme distress. She is able to use these powers to move inanimate objects and people alike, as well as hold them in place.
Exorcism She is also able to expel a demon from a human host with her mind, usually accompanied with an outstretched hand.
Immunity Sam has grown somewhat immune to demonic/supernatural powers, to the point where a virus that is intended to kill off the worlds population cannot infect her, and when the first demon, Lilith, tries to kill her it does not work.

Personality

Samantha Winchester is interesting to say the least. She's certainly not your average girl at any rate, and she'd probably laugh in the face of anyone who tried to make such an accusation. The circumstances of her upbringing have definitely affected her outcome, growing up in an incredibly male dominated environment ensured that anything 'girly' or 'feminine' just wasn't an option for her. She grew up learning to shoot guns rather than play with dolls, and though her father and brother have always been protective of her Sam has learned to fight for herself over the years. She's self-sufficient, she had to learn early that there were some things her family just couldn't help her with. Dad was great when they needed to exorcise a ghost, and Dean could pop her dislocated shoulder back into place better than any nurse, but they were no good to her when she first got her period and had no idea what was happening. The first response that they had to Sam's first boyfriend was to get out their guns when he dropped her off at home. Some things were better left in her own hands, and over the years Sam got more and more used to this.

Despite this self-sufficiency, she's still incredibly dependent on her family - most specifically her older brother Dean, who she's been through just about everything with. His death hit her hard, and until his according to her canon point recent return, she's been on a slippery slope that's only fallen deeper the longer he's been gone. She's filled the hole left by her brothers death with just about any hedonstic vice she can find. Sam has drunk like a fish, engaged in enough pre-marital sex to make a hooker blush and has killed demon after demon in her quest to get revenge on Lilith and take as much black-eyed scum out in the process. Between her reunion with Ruby and then Dean this behaviour has balanced out again, but while nowhere nearly as extreme some of the habits have remained. Drinking is no longer the big deal it used to be for her, and she's a lot more comfortable around people she finds attractive than she used to be. That's not to say she still isn't her awkward, stilted self as soon as comes to interacting with these people, after all 'more comfortable' is not the same as 'good at', or even 'competent'.

More than anything, what defines Sam is her compassion. Though it has taken something of a blow in her time trying to prepare for a life without Dean, Sam is still remarkably compassionate for just about every form of life. She's resentful of the use of the term soft to describe her though, and will gladly argue the point that caring about others is not the same as being weak. While her family will always come first, and she will go to the ends of the Earth and back again to defend them, this same fierce loyalty expands to just about anyone whom she places her trust in. It's hard to gain, but once she trusts you it can be considered implicit. By the same token though, her trust is something that can be lost very easily. Despite the hypocrisy involved she is very wary of liars, and it's hard to justify a reason for that in her mind. Once she decides that you're not worth the risk in her mind, don't expect to be let back in again. There's only one person who can dance either side of that boundary, and that's Dean.

On the topic of hypocrisy, Sam isn't all sunshine and lollipops. She can be incredibly deceitful at times, hiding secrets from the people close to her in misguided attempts to protect both them and herself. If she can justify it to herself that they don't need to know whatever shameful secret she's holding close to her chest, she'll keep it to herself and won't address it until she's literally caught in the act. She's also very stubborn, prone to butting heads with anyone similarly so. Although not as headstrong as Dean (at least most of the time) she has a very similar temper, and it's not hard for people who know the right buttons to push to irritate her enough to get a rise. She's quick to snap, raise her voice and use angry words, but as far as violence on her own part, it's something that required a lot to push her into it. Other than self defense, she rarely if ever uses violence as a means of solving issues.

Lastly, Sam is somewhat naive about the world still. Even with all they've been through, she still has small shreds of faith in a better world, a life where they won't have to hunt forever, and someone else can take the reins. She's spent most of her life protected, between her brother and her father, as well as Bobby, and it means that she's somewhat ignorant of the harsh reality that the other members of her family have been exposed to for the last twenty five years.

Why would your character be chosen?

First and foremost, Sam is intelligent. Before her brother came to pull her back into the hunters life, she'd been in her final year at Stanford University, and was intending on interviewing with Law School to continue her studies. She's also quick and resourceful, having quickly had to think on the spot in numerous scenarios to avoid life-threatening situations. She's strong, both physically and mentally. She's been through a lot - more so in the past four years of her life than most people go through in life times, and she's still going despite everything. Although she fell apart at the death of her brother, nothing else has broken her quite like that. Besides, she's not too hard on the eyes, either.

How much does your character know about nonhumans?

Given that she has grown up around hunters most of her life, taught to hunt nonhumans and has done almost nothing else for the past three years, it's safe to say that Sam knows quite a bit about nonhumans, and what she doesn't know she always manages to find a reference to in her dad's journal.

Why this character

I have been playing this character on and off for about a year and a half now, with a solid run of at least seven or eight months. Although she's not been used much lately due mostly to lack of interest in the current roleplaying communities she's been used in, she's still a very strong voice for me. She's been used in journals, AIM, email roleplays, livejournal, dreamwidth and insanejournal and still stuck around, I think it's about time she actually made it into a game.

AU Addendum

This is a genderswapped version of the character Sam Winchester of Supernatural origins. Beyond her change from female to amle, the rest of her in-canon world remains the same. My playing genderswapped Sam originally came as part of a roleplaying line about a year ago with one partciluar roleplaying partner, more interested to see how the dynamic of the Winchester brothers would change if one of them were female than anything else, and she ended up sticking and became an actual muse I play as opposed to someone I picked up for just one line.

Past Game History: Samantha was in game before, however she didn't have much time to solidify much CR/was not significantly changed by the time here. Notable influences on her in her time here were Diana, a vampire (even if Sam never knew that) who couldn't quite figure out just why she liked Sam's eyes so damn much; Castiel, the angel who saved her brother even if she doesn't know it yet, and a Dean from an alternate universe who took her in as his own. She was starting to develop close bond with people when MODPLOT THINGS HAPPENED aka marie sucked and dropped and here we are.

First-Person

[ For a while there's just the sound of quiet footsteps pacing back and forth over the network. There's the rather loud sound of someone clearing their throat, and when she finally speaks the echo of her footsteps still ring out in the back ground. She's nervous, yes, but also irritated and that's what comes out more than anything as she addresses the network as a whole. ]

Uh, hello. I think. I guess there's got to be someone listening in on this thing or they wouldn't've given it to me, right? Right?

...Yeah, anyway. So I don't really get what's going on here, just that there's some Prince and because he hasn't got a girlfriend yet I can't leave, and that's great and everything but I've got to get back to my brother. I've only just got him back, I can't be here now, I need-

[ There's another long silence that follows after she cuts herself, and after a long slow breath she speaks again, this time in a much less emotional and much more calm tone. ]

My name is Samantha Winchester, and I need to find my way back to my world. If anyone can help with that, I would appreciate it very much.

[ She pauses awkwardly, and coughs again to clear her throat before adding. Uh, that's it. Over. End transmission. Sam out?

Third-Person

Sam's not going to the diner. She's not at all. Except she really is, and she is definitely sneaking out of the motel room, and she's creeping down the street quietly until she's sure she's out of ear shot of their room. This is sneaky and underhand, but the idea of leaving those hell spawned monsters sitting comfortably in the diner makes her feel absolutely sick to the stomach. It's for the best, really. She needs to get rid of these demons, and Dean isn't up to it yet, not like her. She's doing the right thing.

Her phone buzzing in her pocket distracts her slightly, long enough for her to glance down at her pocket and long enough that she doesn't notice the shadows reaching out for her until it's far too late. Just like that she's no longer standing on the side of the street, and instead she's in a giant room. Fantastic. Witha heavy sigh she climbs to her feet and brushes her clothes off lightly, expression showing just how unimpressed she is to be here. Frankly, she's not sure what supernatural business has dragged her here, but whatever it is, she doesn't have time for this. There are demons still sitting in that diner and she's the only one strong enough to kill them.

As soon as she sees a figure approach she's a rush of garbled words, with things like "how" and "where" and a lot of "get me home" without any real logical trains of thought. To his credit the being that has approached her doesn't seem fazed by her bombardment, and instead quickly begins to explain just what has happened to her, and she just stares at him blankly. A prince? Mate? Her? Not a chance in Hell. She goes to say as much, to protest and kick up a fuss, but it's too late by then and she's already being taken somewhere else.

The last thing that she's aware of thinking before she experiences the dizzying experience of being taken by the shadows again is 'If Dean finds out about this crap I'll never live it down.'
